Fallen Heroes Licensed for Graphic Novel Adaptation

Insomnia Publications have been “in talks”, with me for a while now about a possible Fallen Heroes graphic novel adaptation. I can now confirm that Insomnia would like to licence the option to develop Fallen Heroes as a graphic novel.

We still need to work together closely to agree the specific contract details over the next few weeks, but I’m confident that the project will proceed. They have also confirmed that under whatever contract we finalise the copyright to the story and characters will remain with me, and Insomnia will be effectively licensing their use from me.

I will be very closely involved in the development of the project in an editorial “executive producer” role. I will also be closely involved with the selection of the creative team for the project.

Nothing has been agreed yet, and no creative team assembled but hopefully there will be some more news soon.

To say I’m excited about this is an understatement. I’m still an avid comic reader so the prospect of seeing the story translated in comic form is just to good to be true. My hope is this will open up the story to a whole new audience.

Fallen Heroes signing at BICS 2008

I am once more hoping to sign copies of Fallen Heroes at the Birmingham International Comics Show on Saturday October 5th and Sunday October 6th. Please drop by my table, pick up a copy and say hi!

Fallen Heroes signing at Waterstones!

The signing is over now and to be honest I’m still kinda of brain frazzled. It felt like today happened to someone else, like it wasn’t real but I’ve seen the photos so it must be. Even surreal was that well over of half of the copies I signed were to people I’d never met before.

Changes to the website

This post is mainly for you folks that have visited this site before. I am in the middle of changing the site around little, nothing to fancy but I just wanted to make it easier to put news on the site. Hopefully this should mean when it’s all done I will be updating this site with news on Fallen Heroes and my work on book 2.

All the best

Barry

Fallen Heroes sells out at comic convention!

So over the weekend of the 9th -11th May I was selling and signing copies of Fallen Heroes at the Bristol Comic Expo. I had a great time there and got to meet loads of people. I managed to sell out of all the copies and managed to arrange for a London based comic shop (Gosh Comics) to stock copies of the book!

Fallen Heroes Hits Waterstones Northampton!

The first batch of copies at my local Waterstones sold out in less than a week and more copies have been ordered in. The Bedford branch of Waterstones have also ordered several copies for their shelves.

Fallen Heroes Book Signing!

The first ever Fallen Heroes book signing took place at the Birmingham Comic Convention (13th – 14th Oct 2007). I managed to sell all but one of the copies I had taken with me to the convention so all in all it was a successful trip.
